5 Great Looking Nail Colors for Winter

With the gloomy weather and the holiday season, winter is the time when you can easily get away with bold colors and glitters on your nails. The nail art fad is slowly dying but painting your nails in different colors to suit your clothes and mood is still going strong and you should choose some of the colors of the season to paint your nails. Here are some great looking nail colors for the winter.

1. Red

Red is one color that never goes out of fashion. Red also fits in perfectly with the holiday season and it also makes you look classy and sexy at the same time. Try to stay away from glitter if you are going for red as it may look over the top and too gaudy. Instead of looking nice, your nails will end up looking like the Christmas decorations you hang in your tree.

2. Black and almost black colors

Black and almost black colors like midnight blue, emerald green and oxblood are also colors of the season. The fad for this season is that you keep your nails, short and rounded. This was seen on most runways and it is not a pretty bad look either.

3. Fuchsia and yellow

If dark colors are not your thing, then you can do with a splash of fuchsia and yellow to brighten up the winter months. Surprisingly these colors go with almost any clothes that you wear if you know how to carry them off well.

4. Neutral colors and mauve

You can also go for neutral colors during the winter if you do not want to spend too much time changing your colors and soaking your hand in water during the process. Neutral colors are great looking with almost all clothes and you do not have to worry about your nails matching with your clothes and other accessories.

5. Electric colors

Electric hues are also a great way to brighten up your nails during the winter months. Poppy, fiery orange, chartreuse, ultraviolet, and bright cobalt are wonderful colors.
Stay away from neon as they are a definite no this season. Neons will always make a comeback in the summer months.
