5 Tips on How to Choose the Best Primer for Your Skin

A face primer not only helps the makeup to stay for long, but also reduces oiliness on the skin. Choosing a face primer may be tricky at times. Your choice for primer should be based on your skin and suitability. Listed below are some tips on choosing the right primer for your skin, read on.

1. For normal skin

Choose a primer that is light in weight and texture. With normal skin, there are chances of small open pores on skin. A light and creamy primer will help to close the pores. It makes the skin tone even. Apply a single coat of primer and then top it up with your regular foundation and moisturizer. A light based primer helps to hide all the flaws on normal skin texture.

2. For oily skin

It is wise to choose a primer with matt effect for oily skin. A matt effect primer will help to clog the open pores on the skin. A matt primer with silicone helps to control excess sebum production on the oily skin. Apply a single coat on your skin and top it up with a basic oil free foundation. An oily skin needs special care, so choose a primer which helps to even out the skin.

3. For dry skin

It is important to moisturize your dry skin even with a primer. Choose a primer with good moisturizing properties. With dry skin, there are chances of fine lines and wrinkles being visible on the skin. A good primer with moisturizing properties will do the needful. Also, choose a primer which would be silicone free. Silicone based primers are not really suitable to dry skin.
