The card number cannot be reused, so this is like the safest way to shop online. Only some credit card companies provide with this number, so you need to check.

5. Link your card to PayPal

If you have a PayPal account, then you can simply link your credit card to PayPal account. Using PayPal for online purchase is a safer bet as compared to your normal card. This works well for bigger purchases online. PayPal follows a strict and secured online policy which may benefit you as well.

It is important that you make all the purchases from sites that are trusted or reputed. There are many shopping sites online, but only some of them are highly reliable. You need to make purchases from such sites in order to remain safe. These sites have their own privacy policies which would also help you while making an online purchase.

7. Use safe passwords

Do you know that your card can be misused because of your password? You heard that right. It is important to provide a safe password to an online shopping site you visit. Your password should be strong and eight characters long. All your credit card information would remain secured because of this.

8. Beware of claims and marketing

Online shopping is all about discounts and marketing. But, beware of false claims. Don’t buy from a site which offers you like ninety percent discount. That is too good to be true. Check for the authenticity before using your credit card for online shopping.
