Taylor Swift was often criticized of being limited only to country music, and she broke that notion with the release of ‘Shake it Off’, a daring and interesting pop number with a vey catchy video. It has been nominated for the ‘Record of the Year’, ‘Song of the Year’ and the ‘Best Pop Solo Performance’ at the Grammy’s this year. And it won the ‘Favorite Song’ at the People’s Choice Awards.

This song was released two weeks prior to the planned date, after an incident of an unauthorized song leak happened on the Internet. It was also nominated for the ‘Top Country Song’ at the Billboard Music Awards. The lyrics of this song were inspired from Swift’s personal life.

This was written by Swift for a talent show in high school, and has really touching and sweet lyrics. It was the #1 country hit for her, and even touched the 16th rank on Billboard Hot 100.
