1. Proper exercise

Doing sit-ups and crunches all day long is not going to burn your belly fat in any way. To actually cut down on that, you have to do a lot of cardiovascular exercises in between. Skipping, running on a treadmill and jumping jacks between sets of crunches, planks and other abdominal exercises is going to help you.

2. Do not skip meals

Many people think that if they skip their meals, they aren’t going to add any more fat to their body and eventually their belly fat will reduce. Fact of the matter is exactly opposite. When you skip your meal, the cortisol level in your body rises, and this is stored as fat in your abdomen region. It is always advisable to have small meals or snacks throughout the day.

3. Sugar is harmful

If you have a fatty belly, sweets and sugar are your biggest enemies. Sweets increase your blood glucose level and the excess quantity is stored in your body as fat. So stay away from all the sweet stuff, even if you might be dying to eat them.

4. Take lots of vitamin C

Vitamin C is abundant in all citrus fruits, broccoli, bell peppers and several other easily available food items. Plentiful intake of vitamin C will keep your cortisol levels checked, and also produce carnitine, which converts body fat into energy.

5. Sleep well

Most people tend to compromise on their sleep, when it comes to their busy work schedule. However, several studies have proven that sleep is one of the most important activities for healthy human survival. Every person should get a minimum of seven hours of sleep every night. Compromising on that will cause weight gain and increase the risk of getting diabetes and heart diseases.
