7 Home Remedies for Smooth Skin
A smooth and flawless skin is a dream for anybody, especially for females. Although some may be fortunate enough to get a smooth skin from birth itself, they still require some effort to maintain it. The less fortunate ones, on the other hand, have to double the efforts, and can get the desired results by eating proper foods and following a routine, which is disciplined and yet not too harsh. All women can easily deceive their age and have a problem-free skin by keeping it smooth. Here are some home remedies for smooth skin.

1. Papaya pack

Mash papaya and apply on the skin for about 15-20 minutes. It can then be washed off with warm water to get a smooth skin. Lemon can also be added to papaya to reduce tan and get a fairer skin.

2. Lemon juice

Lemon juice does wonders to the skin from both inside and outside. It can be mixed with egg white and applied on the face and neck, and washed off after 15 minutes. It contains antioxidants and Vitamin C that lighten and brighten the skin. It is a boon for those with oily skin, as it removes dead cells and leaves the skin soft and glowing.

3. Water

Water is the simplest and cheapest thing available for a smooth and glowing skin. Simply having 8-10 glasses of water a day keeps the skin hydrated and prevents dryness and wrinkles. Washing the face and neck at least 2-3 times a day keeps the pores clean and also keeps the skin smooth and rejuvenated. Using too much soap could leave the skin dry, so you can wash off your face only with water too.

4. Banana mash

Banana helps to combat acne. It contains water and is therefore a natural moisturizer, thus preventing wrinkles and fine lines. It can be mashed and applied on the face and neck and washed off after 20 minutes to get a glowing, smooth and youthful skin. Mashed banana can also be mixed with milk and Vitamin E oil to make a great facemask. It can be applied for about 30 minutes and washed off. Regular use of this mask is sure to leave the skin radiant and smooth.

5. Cucumber slices

Cucumber cools and soothes the skin. Spread thin slices of cucumber on the face and leave for 20 minutes. Remove them, and wash your face to get a refreshing and rejuvenating look. The hydrating properties of cucumber nourish the skin and make it smooth. Cucumber also contains tightening properties. Its juice can be mixed in milk, which can be applied on the face and neck as a mask and left for 30 minutes. Applying the mask regularly leaves the pores tight and gives a younger and smoother looking skin.

6. Yogurt masks

Yogurt has been in use since ages to keep the body healthy and the skin glowing. It can be applied on the skin to cleanse the pores and make it smooth. A face mask can be made by mixing yogurt with lemon juice and honey. Apply it once or twice a week for 20 minutes and then wash off with warm water. This keeps the skin radiant and glowing.

7. Steam

Steam on the face cleans the pores and helps to get rid of blackheads and dirt hidden in them. Take boiling water in a vessel and bend your face towards it with a towel over the head to prevent the air from escaping. Care should be taken to not go too close to the vessel, as this could cause skin damage and wrinkles. After 10-15 minutes of steaming, wipe your face with a soft tissue. A paste made from sandalwood powder and rose water can be applied on the face to close the cleaned pores after steaming. This can be done once a week to keep the skin healthy and smooth.
